1915: 9th December. Enlisted with Royal Marine Light Infantry: Portsmouth Division-Short Service.
1939R: Castle Hill Gardens, Egham. With wife Florence, Elsie (E) Bennett (Pyke) 1911, and one other closed.

George apparently quarrelled with his father, left Staffordshire and worked at Windsor. They had no children. In 1976, Maud, his widow, came to our wedding but died in the following year. The children of her first marriage dealt with her death and George's family were not told until weeks after the funeral. (Maureen Kettle)
