- After the 1901 Census when he was working in a drapery store he then appears to have emigrated to N Zealand where he married and then in 1923 there is a Passenger record of him and his wife travelling from Auckland to Honolulu, possibly to find work but his application may have been rejected as they returned to Auckland on the next vessel.
