- Inconsistencies: Elizabeth, and her brother George, are born to 'William and Elizabeth', but either this is a different William (cannot find sensible candidate) or they are born while William's first wife Alice is still alive, yet without mention of bastardy. It is ASSUMED that their mother is the Elizabeth Bolton that William married in 1819.

From the Marriage Certificate, her father was William, a Farmer.
From the 1851C and 1861C, she was b Cheddington. Her dob is 1811(1841C), 1811(1851C) and 1809(1861C).
The Bucks FHS transcription of the Cheddington PRs has two Elizabeth Stevens with William as father between 1800 and 1820:
- 1810 parents William & Elizabeth, no occupation shown
- 1815 parents William & Leah, with William a Farmer (for their children's births from daughter Mary onwards).
The Bucks FHS transcription has an Elizabeth Stevens marrying William Mead (of Mentmore) on 31/5/1834 with a witness: Leah Stevens. This cannot be her mother, who by then is Leah Punter; it has to be Leah Stevens 1819, the sister of Elizabeth Stevens 1815.
