- In 1897 he stole a sum of money and disappeared. There are articles in the Bucks Herald in 1897 describing the theft, and in June 1898 a report that he had been arrested in America.
Then the trail goes cold. I can't find any more information as to his arrest and what happened to him. Family rumours are that he ended up in Australia and started a new family (John Davies).
