Memorandum May 14 1732
That Mrs Sarah Fountain gave by her last Will and Testiment the sum of Ten Shillings to be paid yearly to the Minister of Slapton ___ for Preaching a Sermon in the said Church there upon Ascension Day every year. And likewise Five shillings to bedistributed to the poor every year upon the same Day.The Land engag'd to pay this money is now in the hands of Richard Parrot of Newport who married the Daughter of the Said Sarah Fountain and is rented by James Turny of Slapton whos Farmstead lies in the middle of the Town commonly called JamesTurny Junior.Mrs Sarah Fountain died sometime before Ascension Day 1731 and the fifteen shillings aforesaid were paid for the uses aforsaid upon Ascension Day this year.In the year 1732 the five shillings to the poor was paid upon Ascension Day and the Ten shillings for the sermon sometime after.G.B. ?Sarah Fountain _____________.the__________..___.. between 1729 and 1731."
