  "around the time of Fred's birth, Martha married James Burgess as indicated by the 1841, 51& 61 census. The existence of another family group of Martha, Henry, Sarah, Sophia & Maria of identical age with the surname Palmer living in Luton is beyond the realms of coincidence. She had another child, Jane (1842) and some of the Palmer family took up the new name of Burgess. My uncle was a descendant of Fred Palmer/Burgess (PhilB)."
