Notes

  • 'Notes and Queries' x Wm John Thomas, Doran (John) Henry Frederick Turle, Joseph Knight, Vernon Horace Rendall, Florence Hayllar; Bottom of page 508/top of page 509, in the 11th Series, volume 11, dated 24 Dec 1910:
"... inscriptions in Great Gaddesden Churchyard, where Cussans stated on the north side was a wooden rail inscribed, "In memory of Mr Thomas Cook late of Noak Mill in this parish, who departed this life Dec 8th 1830, aged 77. He was a good husband and tender father, and an honest man, although a miller".

FMP(HALS)-Burial Index shows a Thomas COOK of 'Noak Mill', G.G., age 77, buried on 11/12/1830, and a Mary COOK 'of Noak Mill' buried on 23/5/1824, aged 65 - suggesting their respective births to be c.1753 and c.1759.
