Notes

  • 1) William and his siblings John and Mary were christened on the same day, supporting the likelihood that William was a late christening.

    2) In the 1851C, Mary is shown as b Frithsden so there is no reason why William, who is shown b Berkhamsted, should have been b in, say, Great Gaddesden - even though there are GG births that fit the '1822' dates better.

    3) On the Marriage Certificate, William's father is given as Francis.

1841C: Berkhamsted. With sister Mary. See Notes for Mary or with aunt Lydia Field (nee Goodspeed).
1851C: Berkhamsted. Straw Factor. b1822 Berkhamsted. With wife Mary 1821 Frithsden, and children Thomas, Willam and Sarah Ann, and Mary Ann's siblings George b1829 Frithsden and Elizabeth b1833 Frithsden.

The William Cook who died Apr-1856 Berkhamsted (3a/204) was William Cook 1812 GG. See his Notes.

    * (but looks too old). This photograph was alongside the one marked (by me) as being of his wife Mary Ann. The positioning implied husband and wife. The album was inherited from Harry Cook via (H) Arthur Cook. It contained no known Bradshaws.
